Cabinet class or type should not be chosen from room size or product appearance alone. The laboratory biosafety team should define the required personnel, product and environmental protection.

Plan the Installation Environment

Provide the intended procedures, equipment used inside the work zone, cabinet size, utilities and room layout. Doorways, pedestrian traffic, supply air and nearby equipment can affect the installation position. Allow access for certification, filter and fan service, cleaning and future removal.

Review power, exhaust or canopy connections where applicable, alarms, controls, work surface configuration and supporting stand or base. The exact airflow arrangement, filtration, performance standard and site certification requirements must be verified against the selected model and project rules.
